These days there are so many products containing chemicals such as phthalates, BPA, and parabens that could be harmful or even toxic. I’m a believer in safe, all-natural products so these were definitely some of my favorites among natural baby products. They are safer for your baby and just as effective if not better than some of their not-so-green counterparts.
California Baby Diaper Area Wash
This gentle formula containing tea tree oil, witch hazel, and calendula aids in the healing and prevention of diaper rash. You spray the fine mist on a cloth wipe, wash cloth, or directly on the skin to help treat diaper rash without burning or causing irritation. (It is also great for post partum women who have had an episiotomy)
Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash
I love Burt’s Bees so it came as no surprise that I would love their shampoo and baby wash for my baby. It smells so good and the moisturizing gentle formula helps keep my baby’s skin from drying out. And for after the bath, I also recommend the Burt’s Bees Calming Lotion.
Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Diaper Ointment
In addition to the California Baby Diaper Area Wash mentioned above, I would use this ointment on my baby’s bottom when he gets a nasty rash. The vitamin enriched formula provides soothing relief and contains sweet almond oil and beeswax to form a natural barrier for protection. It is very thick so I wouldn’t recommend it for use with cloth diapers as it may clog the fibers which affect the absorbency. For cloth diapering I would highly recommend the Multi-purpose ointment by Burt’s Bees.
Seventh Generation Chlorine-Free Diapers
These diapers provide convenience to the eco-savvy mom on the go when cloth diapers are not very practical. They are free from bleach and other chemicals commonly found in big brand commercial diapers. Their natural composition does not compromise their function as they were better than Huggies Pure and Natural and Pampers in terms of absorbency and preventing leaks.
Nature’s Baby Organics Calming Spray
I loved this with both of my kids. It is a lavender-scented calming spray that helps soothe and relax fussy infants. I still use this on my daughter’s sheets when she has a cold to help her sleep better. It has a mild formula for sensitive babies using Certified Organic ingredients.
These natural baby products provide better peace of mind to parents knowing that they are using safer products for their baby. If there’s a particular natural product you would like to share please feel free to leave a comment.
